Another fan has died of a heart attack after hearing about the death of Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. The deceased was identified as Parashuram Devannavar.
Devannavar was a daily wage worker from Belagavi’s Shindholli village. The 33-year-old man suffered a heart attack on Friday night.
This is the third death reported after the Kannada actor died of cardiac arrest on Friday.
Earlier, a 30-year-old man had died of a heart attack after hearing about Puneeth’s death. The man was identified as Muniyappa of Maruru village in Chamarajnagar’s Hanur taluk.
In a similar incident, a 50-year-old man, identified as Prasad, had died of a heart attack while he was watching the news of the actor’s death. Prasad belonged to Doddebagilu village in Mandya’s Malavalli taluk.
Meanwhile, two men from Raichur’s Sindhanur taluk attempted suicide following the death of the actor, according to sources.
Basanagouda, 22, from Arapura village and Mohammed Rafi, 25, of Yapalaparvi, both fans of Puneeth, reportedly consumed a poisonous substance. The two have now been admitted to a government hospital for treatment. Doctors said their condition is stable.
Puneeth died on Friday after he was taken to the hospital due to chest pain. A statement from the hospital had said the actor “was brought to the emergency department, Vikram Hospital with history of chest pain at 11:40 am, he was non-responsive and was in Cardiac Asystole and Advanced cardiac resuscitation has been initiated”.
According to reports, the actor’s last rites will be performed on Sunday at the Kanteerava Studio in Bengaluru, where his parents Dr Rajkumar, the legendary Kannada actor, and Parvathamma were cremated.
