Mrs Sri Lanka World Beauty Winner Suffers Head Injury after Rival Snatches the Crown. Beauty queen Pushpika De Silva, 31 was handed the Mrs. Sri Lanka World during a pageant ceremony in Colombo broadcasted live on National TV on Sunday. Within minutes 2019 title holder Caroline Jurie makes an announcement to the audience “There is a rule that prevents women who have already been married and are divorced not entitled to win, so I am taking steps to make the crown go to second place.”
A tussle breakouts as the crown is seized from the head of the winner Pushpika De Silva. The crown get’s entangled in Pushpika De Silva hair and Caroline Jurie tries hard to remove, after removing she strides to place the crown on the head of the second runner up.
Pageant organizers have said that Mrs Pushpika De Silva is separated, but not divorced and that the crown has been returned to her. In her Facebook post Mrs Pushpika De Silva has said the incident was unexpected and she’s getting treated for the head injuries. She also added that she would be taking legal action for the way she was handled. Pageant organizers have apologized to Mrs De Silva, and the national director of the Mrs. Sri Lanka World competition, Chandimal Jayasingle branded the incident a “disgrace”.
